Andrea Lynn Cianflone played the role of Maria Callas in LA DIVINA, a one-act play with live-performed arias about the life of soprano opera legend Maria Callas. Spanning the years from Callas’ teenage life in WWII-era Greece to her death in Paris in 1977, the play focuses on Callas the woman, the artist, and the restless soul. The video to the right shows a representative picture of Andrea playing Maria Callas, though this particular aria, “Habanera,” from Carmen by George Bizet, was not part of the theater production produced by Minnesota Concert Opera in the JSB Tek Box at The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
