Andrea's Story
Once upon a time, Andrea had a big dream…
At an early age, Andrea learned the impact of music and arts on audiences thanks to early musical training by her immigrant musician parents. She studied dance, violin, piano, and composition and fell in love with her vocal studies. Gifted free lessons from her first voice teacher and being ‘discovered’ by two arts’ philanthropists while singing at an Italian restaurant, Andrea headed to New York City with two pieces of luggage to pursue her dream to sing.

***Andrea Lynn Cianflone played the role of Maria Callas in LA DIVINA, a one-act play with live-performed arias about the life of soprano opera legend Maria Callas. Spanning the years from Callas’ teenage life in WWII-era Greece to her death in Paris in 1977, the play focuses on Callas the woman, the artist, and the restless soul. The below video is a representative example of Andrea playing Maria Callas. It is an edited excerpt of the dress rehearsal on October 30, 2015 and was produced by Minnesota Concert Opera in the JSB Tek Box at The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
